Reporting and Results
One of the highlights of the RideShark system is the extensive and visual
reporting capabilities that are embedded
within the software. The dynamic content
and usability of the online reporting
portal is one that makes it easy and
attractive to use by administrators.
With increased use, understanding of
commuter and ridematching needs and
trends grows and results in increased
understanding and attention to issues
and needs. The online results portal is
easy to use, graphically enabled and
allows administrators to truly
understand the data they are looking at.
Unique reporting features of RideShark
include the following:
- Ability to set multiple user permission levels
- Self selection of passwords
- Easy one-button exportation of data to MS Excel for further analysis and
charting
- Colour enabled to allow the user to define colour preferences
- Depending on the administration level, designated administrators can edit
user accounts
- Deletion of user records
- Creation of new user records
The RideShark reporting capabilities are
significant and serve to provide the
client with accurate and current
information on their rideshare program.
Highlights of the RideShark reporting
abilities are outlined below.
- The system currently has the ability to generate reports using date
parameters manually or by selecting from a calendar
- Reports can be run based on number of registered users, by organization and
date of registration
- Reports can be run based on number of active or inactive (dormant) users
- Fully customizable and flexible search criteria set-up
- Online admin portal provides instant access to data and results ensuring
that the client can respond to customer questions, media requests and internal
reporting requirements
All reports to be exportable to Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Reports can exported as CSV (comma separated value) files which are
automatically opened by Excel. At time of download, the user can specify whether
the file should be saved, or opened directly in Excel (requires Excel to be
installed on the user’s workstation). CSV files can also easily be imported into
virtually any other application including MS Access.
Data integrity (system to ensure registrant data remains current)
The application includes 4 levels of
“Auto-removal”
- Deactivation – Records
remain; however, user must
reactivate themselves if they return
at a later date. ReActivation is
fast and easy since all previously
entered data is presented to the
user for Re-Confirmation. Time
interval set by client.
- Suspended – Users who are
not using the system properly can be
suspended by the administrator. All
records remain (important for
potential legal purposes or
inappropriate use of the site).
- Deleted – Deactivated
users who have not reactivated for a
preset time period may be deleted
from the system. This should be a
significant time period, since all
records relating to the user are
also deleted. Time interval set by
client.
- Emails are automatically
generated at time intervals set by
the client. - Registered
ridematching participants who do not
respond to the email by clicking on
an active hotlink are deactivated in
the database. Deactivated users are
not included in any searches,
however, they are able to
conveniently reactivate their
accounts by a simple “self
reactivation” process the next time
that they attempt to log into the
application.
