RideShark Supporting Modules

Commuter Surveys

RideShark Surveys can help you with all your online information gathering needs.

Baseline commuter options surveys, annual commuting surveys to determine modal split or satisfaction surveys are all part of RideShark Surveys. Numerous online features allow the client to track and monitor survey progress in order to modify strategic communications.

RideShark Surveys are applicable to a single organization, a TMA or regional service provider and can be customized to meet your specific needs. RideShark online surveys offer the following features:

Survey Key Features:

Number of Respondents – No limit on the number of respondents is implied in this proposal and no additional costs will be assessed based on the number of respondents or number of survey accesses.

Survey design - Typical surveys may include:
  • Multi-page survey
  • Logical branching (i.e. if specific response, then survey will automatically advance to a specific page)
  • Logical question hiding (i.e. if specific response, then certain questions, or response options within questions will be disabled)
  • Automatic responses to the client when surveys are completed
  • Automatic saving of responses on each page submission (rather than simply at the end of the survey)

Survey Database Hosting

Survey Results Storage - Responses will be stored in a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database located on a separate computer from the web/survey hosting computer for maximum security.

Hosting – The survey will be hosted on a secure server that features mission critical operation and security measures including RAID 5 drives, quadruple internet backbone access, nightly backups and 24x7 on-site operations support, backup diesel UPS, Halon Fire Systems and biometric access.

Security Certificate – The survey will be hosted on RideShark’s server secured on the back end by Entrust Web Certificate Services operating on a Secure Socket Layer Server (SSL 3.0). The survey application will be hosted on a HTTPS instead of HTTP address, providing 128 bit data encryption.

Data backup - Data collected will simultaneously be stored in two different files, to ensure data integrity and to guard against file corruption.

Survey Data Access and Results Presentation

Data Downloading – The client will be able to download the data and paste it into MS Excel through use of a Survey Administration Portal as often as desired.

Live Results Reporting – The client is provided with multiple UserID’s for access to the Survey Administration Portal with “User” Privileges which permits unlimited creation and saving of reports. Survey results are instantly graphically illustrated online in the form or pie or bar charts so that the client can monitor and track response rates, participation levels, etc. Finally, because results are generated while the survey is live, it means that the client has full access to results immediately upon close of the survey.
