Boulder, CO – 12/11/25 – RideShark Corporation, a Canadian-based leader in mobility management technology, has joined forces with Boulder Chamber Transportation Connections and the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance to launch CarpoolCO, which brings a new option for people to get around through RideShark’s award-winning multimodal commute management platform.

Carpool Colorado’s innovative, user-friendly, real-time trip planning and carpool-matching functionality helps fill the gap between public transportation and solo car trips. The app is free for anyone to use throughout 2026 with an origin or destination in the Boulder County region, including visitors, commuters and residents looking for affordable and convenient ways to get to work, share rides to the mountains, or avoid the hassle and expense of parking at the many events happening in the Boulder area, such as the Lights of December Parade on Dec 13th.

The app allows drivers and riders to find each other quickly, and it handles splitting of fuel and maintenance costs seamlessly. In addition to carpool matching, it also offers other mobility mode planning options, including transit, walking and biking.

Users can access CarpoolCO from any desktop browser or by downloading the free mobile app. After creating an account and entering basic trip details, the platform instantly displays all available commuting options — including potential carpool matches. Users can search and filter results based on their personal preferences, and those who register with a work email can even choose to match exclusively within their employer group.

To protect privacy, CarpoolCO never reveals last names, email addresses, or phone numbers. All communication between users happens securely through in-app messaging.

The Carpool Colorado app is free for anyone to use throughout 2026 with an origin or destination in the Boulder County region.

Karen Worminghaus, Project Manager at Boulder Chamber Transportation Connections, said:

“Transportation access is critical to economic vitality. Partnering in this pilot project aligns with our efforts to support workforce mobility, reduce barriers to employment, and create a more sustainable and equitable Boulder. Real-time carpool matching has tremendous potential to significantly reduce travel costs for both riders and drivers, while reducing congestion for everyone using our roadways. Whether commuting to work or commuting to events, our customized CarpoolCO app offers a quick and easy way to reach destinations not easily served by transit. It’s free and easy to use. We invite anyone in the Boulder region to try it for their next commute, out-of-town meeting/event, or recreational adventure. We already have over 20 upcoming Community Events listed on the platform – and anyone can add events and carpool routes not already listed.”

David Smith, Trade Commissioner, The Consulate General of Canada in Denver, is pleased to support the recent partnership between RideShark, Boulder Chamber Transportation Connections (BCTC), and the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance (CSCA) in deploying RideShark’s multimodal commute management platform.

“This innovative and sustainable transportation solution aligns directly with the Government of Canada’s mission to promote urban mobility solutions that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, ease traffic congestion, and create new technology jobs in communities where these smart-city applications are adopted.”

Sharon Lewinson, CEO of RideShark Corporation, emphasized the importance of international collaboration:

“We’re proud to partner with forward-thinking organizations like the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance and the Boulder Chamber. This demonstration will highlight how our platform helps regions like Boulder empower commuters with real choices while delivering measurable environmental and economic benefits. We look forward to bringing similar solutions to other organizations and cities in Colorado to support sustainable mobility!”

Tyler Svitak, Executive Director of the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance, shared:

“Colorado needs mobility innovation, and we’re proud to be supporting this deployment of a technology solution to help connect people with their transportation options, including carpooling. This international project will serve as a model for other regions looking to implement integrated transportation demand management solutions that are scalable, cost-effective, and climate-conscious.”
